From the town centre you follow the gravel path alongside Vangsvatnet lake towards Prestegardsmoen. Cross the bridge over the river Vosso at the end of Prestegardsmoen. Turn right after the bridge and follow Russarvegen road along the river. The road is marked all the way to Bordalsgjelet. Bordalsgjelet is a spectacular natural attraction within walking distance from the town centre. The deep and imposing Bordalsgjelet has been adapted for the visiting public with an information board, a viewpoint and benches for resting tired legs. When the ground isn’t hidden by snow it is possible to follow a purposely-built path that guides you to the gorge. Here you can experience an impressive view of the potholes that have been formed by the ice and river over a period of many thousands of years. Always remember to keep to the marked trails for your own safety! After visiting the gorge, return to your car. It is probably time to head home to Sofias house.

Close to Voss Centrum you find the beautiful Bordalsgjelet. Bordalsgjelet is approximately 5km long in total, however, only parts of it are accessible to the public. In fact the accessible stretch from the bridge only extends to some 150 metres. Underneath the bridge are views down to some impressive potholes, caused by the abrading action of water and pebbles over thousands of years.

An absolute gem. Bats flying around in this narrow gorge during the day. It's a must visit
