Dogs can run free before 10am and after 7pm! Huge parks great for picnics and long walks.
All purpose bar, but quite popular among the locals for their breakfasts. Very close to the underground station.
Really nice at the top end near Legazpi. A nice alternative to Retiro if you want to lounge around for the day. The Matadero is also worth a visit, depending what's on.

“This is a huge open green park in the center of Madrid. Locals and tourists alike walk here to relax and meet with friends. The lake in the middle is large and a good place to walk around or have a picnic. There a few cafes, stalls, and even restaurants hidden throughout the park if you are looking for a place to sit. Meanwhile, the crystal palace near the lake typically has some kind of art or nature exhibition going on throughout the year. “👀 Plaza Mayor - one of Madrid's most famous and notable plazas, built in 1580. Used to be a market in the old days, now it's lined with restaurants and patios. This is where the famous squid sandwich (bocadillo de calamares). Coming to Madrid without trying one is like going to NY without eating a bagel. Do as the locals do and don’t dream of paying more than about €3.50. Don’t sit at one of the restaurants on the square – instead, make like a Madrileño and buy your sandwich from inside one of the surrounding bars, then either eat it standing in the bar, or find a bench and enjoy it al fresco.”
