By far my favorite getaway from the city. Try SwitzerFalls trail and go to the water hole at the bottom of the mountain. There's a ranger station right before the entrance where you can get a day pass and they can talk you through all the trails.

Just a few miles up the road you'll find one of the most stunning drives in the region. Take a quick drive up Angeles Crest and you'll be rewarded by the most stunning views of the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles. An escape to the mountains is only minutes away!

Head to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on 2N. Right behind it is a small service road to the right that leads to some great hiking trails. If you're lucky, maybe you get a tour of JPL where they build and test Mars Rovers and future space travel.

Great hiking within minutes. You can find trails to completely get lost, go fishing, whatever. Great views.
