The Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu is home to one New Zealand's most important public art collections. The gallery houses a collection from classics to modern art, and regularly showcases works from New Zealand and internationally based artists. The building is a piece of art in itself, with the glass facade resembling the flow of the Avon river/Otakaro.

Its just reopened after being closed for 5 years. Its our only major art gallery, and it rocks.
