Highly recommended museum. Just visit the main rooms with the frescoes of the Buongoverno and Cattivo Governo. Everybody should see this once in his life.
It contains the masterpiece of 'The Allegory of Good and Bad Government' (1340) by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in its state rooms. Good Government depicts the Sienese landscape more or less as we see it today.
The best example of Sienese paintings and frescos. Enjoy the view from the Mangia Tower.
Not only is this a beautiful building, it also houses a fascinating and beautiful museum collection of important art works and gives many insights into Sienese and Italian history and culture. You can also climb the Torre del Mangia tower if you wish.
