A british-style pub that predates the automobile! Nice ambiance, outside dining, lawn games, pool table. Great burgers, salads, curry dishes.
A bit futher afield but a must-stop if you're going to Sooke! Built in 1894, this historic pub offers atmosphere, good food and friendly service. Large outside seating space as well. Ask them about the ghost!
Great place to go for a drink and some food. Or just to have a “pub” night out. It’s closer in proximity to the cabin as well.

“The history of Sooke is fascinating. When the Hudson’s Bay Company’s fur trading fort was established at Camosun (now Victoria) in 1843, European immigration and land acquisition followed. The first independent immigrant to purchase land in the new colony of Vancouver’s Island, at Sooke harbour in 1849, was Captain Walter Colquhoun Grant of the Royal Scots Greys. A cairn in his memory was erected in 1958, for B.C.’s Centennial.”
