The Church of St Michael the Archangel was dedicated in 1261 by Bishop Branscombe of Exeter Cathedral. The present building was mainly built in the early part of the fifteenth century. Beautiful inside, look out for the commemoration to Mary Whiddon whose story inspired R.D.Blackmore to write 'Lorna Doone'.
