On the opposite bank of the estuary to Appledore, Instow is a small village with a sandy estuary beach, backed by sand dunes. You will find several nice eateries there, including the Instow Arms (modern pub food) and the Boathouse (Seafood Restaurant). We would recommend booking a table in season, as it tends to get busy. There is free on road parking and there is also a pay and display car park.

Instow - located on the estuary where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet. It’s a peaceful and charming place to visit. There are numerous pubs, and places to eat, one of our favourites is The Oyster Cafe.
Instow has a beautiful beach and also lots of lovely restaurants and pubs. Can be reached in 25 minutes by car.
Instow is a beautiful old fishing village. Enjoys the views of Appledore and the estuary
