Beautiful, authentic French bakery just 1 min from the door. Owned by a French couple, they do everything as it should be. The pies are my favourite.

Gerald's is a really special bar. Great atmosphere where everyone is very friendly. Huge wine list and great bar food. Highly recommended. If you're going to settle in for while then I strongly suggest you buy a bottle of wine rather than going by the glass as it's a lot cheaper that way.

Entertainment & Activities
The Zoo is within walking distance and great for families. Even if you're not really interested in animals there's plenty of other things to do there. Plus the park lands are very nice for picnics and for small children to run around.

This is very good museum but especially if you have small kids. Their kids section will keep them busy for hours. Plus you can get nice coffee and sit comfortably next to the kids bit. Also plenty of interesting exhibits and art for adults. Next door is Imax theatre and the gardens also have a very good kids playground.

Clay is a nice organic shop with pretty much everything you can think of in the organic line including fresh veges. It can be a little pricey so check the prices before you buy. If you just need basics then the milk bar across the road is better.
