Food Scene

Best southern inspired food in Portland, make sure to try something off of the local organics menu it is always changing and seasonal. If you go for brunch you won't want to miss their fried chicken and savory waffles! They also serve gluten free fried chicken!! There is almost always a line so either be prepared to wait or get in line 15 mins before they open!

Right around the corner from the house, it is the perfect place to go for breakfast. The portions are huge and they are known for their GIANT cinnamon rolls and house made bread.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Portland. Try the hanger steak, they are always changing up the preparation and it never disappoints. If you go for brunch, order the baked apples and their version of Steak and Eggs served on top of jalapeno skillet cornbread! Amazing and unique. Tip: they don't serve food like other restaurants so don't expect your meals to come out at once. They will make 10 of 1 dish, send it out and then send out something else in a few minutes. Everything is meant to be shared with the table. For a party of 4 I would order a Radicchio salad, Brussel sprouts, Mac and Cheese, and 2-3 Main entrees.

Tons of options to fit everyone's tastes and only a 5 minute ride down the road from the house. A unique dinning experience. There is a covered and heated (in winter) dining area in the middle of the food trucks.

Hike in about a mile to find these amazing hot springs. Open to the public, no nudity, and great for all ages. You can also opt for a private bathing area if they aren't too busy.

Oregon Zoo, Portland Children's Museum, World Forestry Center, Hoyt Arboretum, Portland Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden and all of the park space in between. The Max will take you right there and there are free shuttles that will take you to the different areas. You will see spectacular views while up there as well, especially at the rose garden.

Essentials

Not the closet Fred Meyer the house, but the best one. They have a great salad bar, burrito bar, and other ready to eat items. Just getting into town and want something quick to take back to the house along with a few essentials, this is the best one stop shop. It is super clean and the prices are great.
