We love Zest! The young chef, David Cruz, is a Culinary Institute graduate. He and his family have created a cozy spot in the Middle Main Street district, just past downtown. David's menu is a stylish but accessible hybrid of Mexican, American, and International contemporary cuisine. His prices are very reasonable and the food is healthy but filling. Great place to get a taste of what's new on Main Street!

Poughkeepsie is blessed to have a vibrant Oaxacan community, and we get to savor the piquant flavors of their food delicacies. Our newest favorite is Cositas Ricas, which offers delicious regional Oaxacan specialties as well as fresh fruit juices and shakes, and classic American diner selections. Their fresh-made salsa, green and red tortilla sauces, and handmade tortillas are worth the whole trip. We could eat their savory Grande Taco, made with tender, long-simmered goat, every day of the week.
