My absolute favorite Mexican food place in town to get tacos al pastor (pork cooked on a rotating spit). Its also located in the very popular South Congress Avenue also known by the locals as SOCO.

I guess I really like pizza because this is another eatery with great thin crust, fire roasted, savory topping pizzas. At the same location there is also a specialty ice cream shop right next door. Dinner and dessert and your night is complete.

Parks & Nature
Barton Creek Greenbelt in my humble opinion is the gem of the city. Its a 7 mile hike and bike trail that makes you feel like you have escaped the city and entered a nature wonderland. I think this may be what the locals call the Gus Fruh entrance of Barton Creek Greenbelt. The reason we love to access the trail from this point is for 2 reasons: when the creek is full of water there is a rope swing for the adventurous and if you go across the creek and hang left there is a popular climbing wall that the locals frequent. Because this is Texas and our rainfall can vary greatly you'll have to google whether there is water in the BC Greenbelt.

Getting Around
I think you can drive over to the mall and catch this bus line and it will take you over to barton springs, although it isn't a very direct route to get there. I was actually trying to put in the bus stop that is located across the street and near the entrance to Garrison park from our neighborhood. Its worth the walk to jump on the bus and skip the hassle of cars and traffic take to get to ACL. It's bus number 3 and it will drop you at the intersection of South Lamar and Barton Springs Rd and then its a fairly short walk on Barton Springs over to the festival.
