Green Sea Turtles on beach almost every day. Often many. Stay at least 15 ft away from the turtles and NEVER touch them. Viruses on hands cause tumors to grow on their bodies. They are sleeping/resting and do not need to be tended. Take pictures, do not approach them

There has been a continuous flow of lava on the surface or in lava tubes continuously since 1983; flowing from vents or craters on Kilauea Mountain to the ocean. At night (the park is open 24 hours a day) the flows are seen easily. The Halema'uma'u Crater within the Kilauea Caldera often has lava flows on crater floor that can be seen thru telescopes (free) from the viewing area.A large parking lot open 24 hrs and a museum, Jagger, next to viewing area open from 9am-8pm explain about this volcano .There is a visitors center at the park entrance. Web site for the United States Geological Service has daily updates.
