You will need a park pass to come here. A 7-day pass can be purchased for $25. If you have a current National Park pass, that will get you in. Lone Rock has soft sands and is great for the kids to play with beautiful scenery. It tends to be very crowded in the summer and you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to drive near the water or on the beach. If you don’t have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, plan on getting stuck OR you can park in the paved lot and walk approx. ½ mi to the beach. The sand can burn your feet so prepare accordingly.

You’ll experience the meaning of “desert beauty” as you travel across this part of the dessert seeing a variety of rock formations, plant life and vivid colors. There is a visitor center with a restaurant here.
