Food Scene

Fantastic food and service in a lovely restaurant, close to the best pubs in the town. The pots of mussels are great, as is the seafood chowder and seafood casserole but they also do great fish and chips.

This is a workers co-operative that serves great food during the day but often hosts events, gigs, talks, exhibitions, craft fairs etc. They have a tapas night every Friday with local musicians playing a range of music and its BYOB (bring your own bottle or beer)! Definitely worth a visit - if only to try Elena's chocolate brownies!!

A wee cafe situated in Pottingers Entry - one of a series of historical narrow alleyways, known as The Entries. It serves great freshly made food and offers tasty vegan and vegetarian options too. A good place to grab lunch before exploring the Entries, where the Society of the United Irishmen was born.

Drinks & Nightlife

It's a small traditional Irish pub with a great atmosphere and it's always good craic. Great Guinnes, traditional session music and live music at weekends, Irish set dancing on Wednesday nights, music jams on Monday nights - it's all happening at Maddens.

A traditional Irish pub and the oldest in Belfast. It was built in 1720 and was a meeting place for the United Irishmen when they were planning the 1798 rebellion against English rule. It has traditional music most nights during the week and on Saturday afternoons, and bands at the weekends.

The International Wall is close the the peace lines in West Belfast and is very popular with tourists. It has a range of murals (that are regularly changed by local artists) with mainly political themes but will also cover environmental / social justice issues or feature famous world figures. This wall is a 5-10 minute walk from the house.
