Entertainment & Activities
This is the local camping site. Cafe and activities open from 1st of June to end of September. It is one of the best fresh water trout river to fish in. Fishing allowed from 1st of July to end August. You need to buy access to be allowed to fish in the river.
This site also rent out kayaks and the can arrange speleology trip local, around a 3 hours activity.
Also great area for kids with playground.
The local camping place also serves ok food. Like pizza, burger, steak, and some lunch food. With playground for the kids this is a popular area for families and the local to hang around. They also serve alcohol. Only open from 1st of June to end September.

Get a taste of coastal culture in Salangen
Right in the center of Sjøvegan is the stately Lundbrygga. The pier was built in the interwar period on the site of an older pier.
The pier is now a museum where you can see the exhibition "Fjord = Ferd", which tells about the coastal culture in Astafjord. The museum also tempts with other temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year, and here you will also find the café, museum shop and tourist information.
We recommend combining the trip to Lundbrygga with a visit to "Kare Kaia» located in the museum 1 level - a unique cafe where you get the feeling to get to grandmother's kitchen! Please also feel free trip to Salangsverket, where you can see the remains of an iron ore adventure!
Johan Falk Henriksen came in 1864 to Sjøvegan and started business. In addition to the general store and warehouses, he established a guesthouse, bakery and smithy. When steamships began to operate northern Norway, he also grant that salesman.
