authentic Italian in a converted school/chapel - doesn't look anything on the outside, but the food is super.

Crazy place; old fashioned tea shop surrounded by a huge second hand furniture emporium. Also does lunches & Sunday roast (you'll need to book). Situated in the old Mining School buildings; lots of history too.

Such a quirky place with a mix of Middle Eastern cuisine; particularly Lebanese I think. Fabulous views to both coasts you'll need to be able to manage some steep steps and low ceilings! Definitely worth booking.

Entertainment & Activities

Built on an old Tin Mine, there are jewellery shops including beautiful pearls, a smashing informal restaurant and children's activities, including panning for tin, play area and pottery painting. Also shop for local produce (although it may be cheaper elsewhere, it's all in one place!)

Parks & Nature

A woodland area with pretty good access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. some level walks, some a bit hilly but not mountaineering!Fat, friendly squirrels always fun to see. swans & ducks too. Situated within the grounds of the old Tehidy House (for Poldark fans, the home of the Bassett's) although the house burned down many years ago. If you walk north, you'll reach the coast.

Sightseeing

You can see both coasts on a clear day. There are ancient burial grounds, huge rocks for the kids to climb and is the site of the Bassett memorial that you can see from wherever you are in Camborne & Redruth. Drive to Carnkie and look for the sign hidden in the hedge. You can park in the village and walk up (about a mile) or park at the top although the track is narrow and bumpy so watch out if you're driving a low slung vehicle.

Parking is usually good, especially for the early birds. If you're National Trust members, parts of the car park are free for you. Walk up and over the headland to see the seals in Mutton Cove. Picnic looking out at the lighthouse. walk down the beach - 3 miles of golden sand. Couple of nice cafe's too. Gwithian village fairly nearby has a pub too.
