Bergen is known for the fish soup, and Søstrene Hagelin (The sisters Hagelin) have been on the market with their fish soups for a very long time. If you want to try the fish soup of Bergen, this is one of the places to reccomend.

Bergen is also known for their cinnamon rolls and Godt Brød is my favourite cafe which have several branches in Bergen and now also in other cities in Norway. This was the first bakery and sandwich bar in Bergen which started selling organic food and also focuse on local ingredients. Instead of throwing away leftovers, they always gave away the leftovers to people in need and as food for pigs in a organic farm in Bergen. If you care about the ethics of where your money will disappear after you buying the cinnamon roll or the delicious sandwich, this is the place.

In the same street, there are also other cafes like Vågen Fetevare and Potetkjelleren which are really cozy.

Parks & Nature
From Fløyfjellet/Fløymountain you get a great view over Bergen. There is a funicular between town and the top of the mountain, but its also great to walk. If you walk, you will pass neighbourhoods of small white houses and alleyways, a old fire department station and viewpoints. On top of Fløyfjellet there is a kiosk, restaurant and playground for kids. From there you can also take differents routes for more walking or hiking. If you want to stay out for long, or walk far, you could bring a "matpakke"; prepared open sandwiches wrapped in paper or a box and something to drink, and enjoy it out in the nature.

This is an area of Bergen, similar to Sandviken area, but closer to the city center. The architecture here is mainly consisting of old, small wooden houses and alleyways with "brosten", cobblestone which is a commonly feature of Bergen. This is an area great to just walk around in and watch the architecture. There are some cafees, parks and at the tip Nordnesparken with public swimmingpool and also an aquarium park called Akvariet. As mentioned above, Sandviken is also great if you like this type of informal sightseeing.

This is the closest supermarket if you have a car. If you dont have a car, then you should shop in the city center, for example in the basement of Exhibition shopping mall which is next to the bus stop Olav Kyrres Gate C.
