This place does amazing tapas!! the cocktails in the upstairs bar are good also (french martini's!! :)) The restaurant is located in an old shoe factory and they still have all the old moulds used to make shoes up on the wall. Its a huge old red brick warehouse/loft. Its perfect for large groups. Their menu is quite good also. This place is located right in the middle of Dublin and is near lots of great bars such as the Hogans, fade street social, the globe, the no name bar and the long hall

One of the best burgers places in Dublin! Its pricey but their burger menu is rather unique, it plays good music and the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is located in Castlemarket which is just off grafton street and away from all the busyness. It is a great place for people watching!

The food in this place is amazing. I have been there for brunch before and it is one of the nicest places I have eaten in. Highly recommended. It is located near St. Patrick Cathedral which if you have time is very nice for a quite stroll as the gardens surrounding it are nice and peaceful.

From sushi to salsa, this is the city's best open-air food market; pick, prod and poke your way through the organic foods of the world with a compact stroll through gourmet lane. "just stakes, weekly specials, house cocktails and no fuss" - thats what appears on their website and never has a truer word been spoken. This place does amazing steaks and cocktails and I found it very reasonably priced given the quality of the food. I would recommend getting the spinach as side by the way - WOW :)

Drinks & Nightlife

This place does the best Guinness in Dublin. It is an authentic old school Irish pub. It doesn't play music or anything like that. It is always bustling with people who are all chatting and having a few drinks. If you can get a seat outside it is the best place to just sit out and watch the people of Dublin walk by and roam around the streets. In the inside the walls are covered in paintings by various Irish artist and I believe they are all for sale. If you are visiting Dublin for your first time and want a place to have your first Guinness - this should be it.

Hogans is a brilliant spot for casual drinks. Located in the heart of Dublin city the bar is fit to cater for large groups and has an excellent drinks selection. It is open late and is busy weekends. I have been there a few times when it was busy and never found it to be uncomfortable.

JJ Smyth's is the home of live Jazz and Blue in Dublin. This is one of my all time favourite spots to go to for music. JJ's has live Blues and Jazz music six nights of the week. This is where many a musician got their start and where many of the top names continue to play. To see who's playing and what's on in JJ's visit their website.

Merrion Sq is the most prestigious and, arguably, the most elegant of Dublin's Georgian squares. Its well-kept lawns and tended flower beds are flanked on three sides by gorgeous Georgian houses with colourful doors, peacock fanlights, ornate door knockers and, occasionally, foot-scrapers, used to remove mud from shoes. Over the last two centuries they've been used by some notable residents.

If you have any desire to understand Irish history – especially the juicy bits about resistance to British rule – then a visit to this former prison is an absolute must. This threatening grey building, built between 1792 and 1795, played a role in virtually every act of Ireland's painful path to independence, and even today, despite closing in 1924, it still has the power to chill. Ireland’s most prestigious university is a bucolic retreat in the heart of the city that puts one in mind of the great universities like Oxford, Cambridge or Harvard. Just ambling about its cobbled squares it’s easy to imagine it in those far-off days when all good gentlemen (for they were only men) came equipped with a passion for philosophy and a love of empire. The student body is a lot more diverse these days, even if the look remains the same. Read more: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ireland/dublin/sights/architecture/trinity-college#ixzz4EOOMtMTz

Smithfield’s biggest draw is devoted to uisce beatha (ish-kuh ba-ha, ‘the water of life’); that's Irish for whiskey. To its more serious devotees, that is precisely what whiskey is, although they may be put off by the slickness of the museum (occupying part of the old distillery that stopped production in 1971), which shepherds visitors through a compulsory tour of the recreated factory (the tasting at the end is a lot of fun) and into the ubiquitous gift shop.
