Peak Creek winds through downtown. Some is left in it's natural state, some is in a channel built in the 1800's. Beautiful old stone bridges cross at Jefferson and Washington Streets.

Fishing (You need a VA license; no gear rentals at the lake) hiking through mountain trails, picnicking. No swimming, though. Open April to October
