The beach is rather long, and you can either walk down and explore the upscale and budget stores and restaurants along the street, or you can walk along the beach from the Hilton Hawaiian Lagoon. Famous for surfing, there are various surf board rentals along the beach where you can also book a lesson.

Getting Around

Waikiki trolley has different routes that you can purchase tickets for. You can also get a week long pass. The Pink line runs through Waikiki and to the Ala Moana Shopping center, and you can jump on it at any of it's stops and pay cash to board ($2.50 last time I checked). The other lines require advance ticket purchase. The Blue line takes you to Hanauma Bay (to view), a blow hole and Hawaii Sea Life Park. It's the most scenic route. The Green line takes you to Diamond Head, so you can do the 30 minute hike to the top. It also goes to Kahala Mall, with lots of shops, a Whole Foods & Movies The office is about a 15 minute walk away on Kalakaua Avenue in the Royal Hawaiian Center.
