The park features a swim beach and a large playground with a giant plastic octopus and a play structure with the mast of a galleon. Families will find the play areas of North Lake Park to be very welcoming for children, with ample space and numerous jungle-gym structures to swing from. In addition, picnickers and park visitors will find a large grassy area to lay a blanket and a covered picnic area to escape the summer sunshine. The park also boasts Owen’s Field, a baseball diamond, soccer fields, and tennis, basketball, and horseshoe courts. During the summer, the park operates a concessions stand that sells hot dogs. Operating seasonally, the Buckhorn Northern Railroad is a miniature train that carries visitors throughout the summer season. The train is a replica of the steam train that once hauled clay across Loveland. Additionally, Loveland Lake supports a population of fish and hosts the Annual Loveland Fishing Derby. Fishers may drop a line from the banks of the lake or at the fishing dock at the Duck Pond.

Food Scene

Opened in 1978, Dairy Delite is a throwback to the ice cream and burger shops of the past. The restaurant has been slightly remodeled over the years but still features its original heart-shaped swivel chairs, a faded Pepsi menu board, 1980s-era video games and classic framed photographs of ice cream sundaes. The store appears the most vintage when hosting car shows on the third Friday of every month. Closed during winter.
