The Old Jailhouse is one of our favorite restaurants in DT Sanford. It is the historic jailhouse in Sanford where you can eat in and around the jail cells, beautiful full bar, gorgeous brick work throughout, the atmosphere is divine and the menu changes often based on chef's choice! Reservations are recommended.

The District is another fave! Food is shockingly good, small menu but something for everyone (including vegan and gluten free), great craft beer, cocktails. Great atmosphere too! Reservations recommended on weekends but should be good mid-week!

Buster's bistro has great food, great bar, German/Bavarian beer, themed nights including trivia and bingo, staff is amazing! Sunday brunch is to die for but you may need reservations for the brunch. It's an early spot for dinner, bar/restaurant doesn't usually stay open late (like the rest of DT Sanford).

For a can't fail casual meal, Sanford Brewing is one of our top choices. Kitchen is open late so if you find yourself walking around hungry, you can pop in and get a bite. Food is consistently good, microbrews are delicious, tends to be packed all the time so don't wait until you're hangry to visit! It is worth it!

The Yardery is amazing if you're hanging out with the kiddos and want to have some bar food and a cold brew while the kids play! If you are in a "date night" kind of mood, be sure to visit St. John's River Steak & Seafood, you will dine overlooking Lake Monroe in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. We ate lunch with our cousins visiting from NC and our cousin said it was the "best burger" he had ever had. This is a lovely (and the only) waterfront dining experience in DT Sanford!

We ate lunch with our cousins visiting from NC and our cousin said it was the "best burger" he had ever had. This is a lovely (and the only) waterfront dining experience in DT Sanford!
Music Scene
Tuffy's Bottle Shop & Music Box has some extraordinary spaces. The outdoor is wide open with a huge fire pit, a re-purposed travel camper, lots of cool seating areas and a huge indoor music venue. Featuring great local talent the music changes regularly. Food at Tuffy's is great and, in addition, they just opened a Swine & Son's location inside. The last little surprise at Tuffy's is a cozy and hidden tiki bar called the Suffering Bastard. The ambiance is great, over the top Tiki atmosphere and all sorts of cool rum based cocktails you can't find anywhere else. Reservations are recommended for the Suffering Bastard, it's tiny and fills up quickly!

One of the very few hot yoga locations in all of Central Florida, Sanford is lucky enough to offer Hot Yoga Sanford that practices Bikram method yoga in 90 minute sessions. They also occasionally offer meditation and amazing international detox retreats! Classes are taught twice a day, there is no contract, just $20 per class, go and enjoy!

My husband loves the Mayfair Country Club and Golf Course, I am not a golfer so it's hard to talk about it. But he says it's challenging, it has a practice range, driving range and a snack bar (I'm assuming this is code for the 19th hole). I did read up and learned that it was one of Donald Ross' first designs! If you're a golfer, this course has a great reputation and is just a few minutes away from our house!

Adults are $20 and kids are $14, prices are subject to change, this is how much it was the last time we were there.
