Going to the beach?
Parking is cheaper at a state park. Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, and Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park are nice beaches to visit that will not drain your wallet.
Go EARLY to avoid long lines. 7-9am is ideal.
If it rains, seek cover, it will USUALLY stop raining in 10 minutes or so. Use your best judgement.
Wear sunscreen and reapply. You will get sunburnt. Peak hot hours are 10am-2pm.
Pay attention to the lifeguard flags. Green - nice water conditions, Yellow - be cautious, Red - Do not go in, dangerous. Purple - stinging sea life; jellyfish etc..
