Sightseeing
If you've never seen a glacier, this one is only about an hour away ... and you'd probably want to take the tunnel to Whittier while you're at it...you can drive through it if the train isn't coming.

The road to Girdwood, Whittier, Seward, and Homer is along Turnagain Arm. It's a beautiful drive where you might see dall sheep on the mountainside... and beluga whales in the water (seasonal).

A fun thing to do is take the train to Seward and while you're there, the SeaLife Center is worth seeing. Be aware, Seward & Homer are known as drinking villages with a fishing problem :-)
