Dining with a view
Tsa-Kwa-Luten is one of the nicer venues for dining on the island; plus, you get a nice view of Vancouver Island's mountains from the patio dining area and easy access to walk to the lighthouse.

Heriot Bay Inn's restaurant and pub have a few beers and Merridale cider on tap, decent appetizers, and a nice patio/lawn space to enjoy their view of the boats in the bay.

Q-cove has a nice walkable conglomeration of shops & restaurants, our library, and one of our two Tru Value grocery stores alongside a couple smaller boutique grocers.

Sightseeing
Rebecca Spit is the one stop you have to make on Quadra Island if you're short on time and haven't been. It makes for a beautiful walk year round as well as a convenient spot for a quick dip in the ocean in the summer on a sunny day. The walking trails are nice, the parking is easy, and the road is in good shape outside of winter.

1426 Heriot Bay RdRebecca Spit is the one stop you have to make on Quadra Island if you're short on time and haven't been. It makes for a beautiful walk year round as well as a convenient spot for a quick dip in the ocean in the summer on a sunny day. The walking trails are nice, the parking is easy, and the road is in good shape outside of winter.
Hiking, climbing
Chinese Mountains accessed from the lower (larger, less rugged) parking lot on Walcan Rd offer up great hiking access to Morte Lake as well as a short (10-25 minute) moderate uphill hike to connect into the upper trails for sightseeing from a variety of pronounced bluffs without even needing to reach any of the named peaks. Climbers with vehicles that have okay ground clearance may prefer to access from the upper trailhead (carpool if you can, parking can be desperate) if solely aiming for the bluffs.

The Legion is one of Quadra's most reliable dining + pub options once the clock rolls past 7pm and everything else shutters. The patio allows smoking, which can sort of flow into the nearby tables indoors, but it's still a solid option. This is also your most reliable option for watching sports games.

Check their hours and plan accordingly, as they stay quite busy but they do publish their operating hours.
