OMG....This is a wonderful place....ride your bike there to listen to some great music while eating delicious fares from the food trucks. Lots of picnic tables and beach chairs to sit in while you listen to nightly music. Also, a bar right on the beach which makes this a locals favorite. The beach is open on most days, with a small fee for non Highland's residents. Right on the water at the Seastreak dock....beautiful views at night of the Verrazano Bridge and the NYC skyline

Cutest coffee place in town. Great coffee, small but yummy menu and plenty of seating outside. They host many 1-3 piece bands to play low key enjoyable music.

You can see Porcini's from the back deck of my house. It's right next to the post office and takes a couple minutes to walk to. It's a BYO so bring your favorite wine to pair with some amazing, high end, Italian food. DELICIOUS!!! Make a reservation because it's usually booked up.

1.5 blocks from the house....very walkable (all of Highlands really is) with a nice outdoor deck for eating. Not a great view as it's on Bay Avenue, but I hear the food is yummy. Some days the wait for your food is long....or so my friends have said.

With Off the Hook on the Highlands side of the Bridge, 2nd Jetty is on the Sea Bright Side and one of my favorites (it's a bit pricey but worth it for occasions). Lots of outdoor seating ....not a great view but excellent food and a full bar!

Small chinese restaurant with some really good dishes. They deliver but it literally is a 2 minute walk from the house. Good in a pinch....and if you are craving Chinese and want TAKE-out!

MILLER STREET Bridge. A nice little bay beach within a 2-3 minute walk away. It's good in a pinch and has lifeguards from Memorial to Labor Day. Small but OK, especially for kiddos.

At the top of the hill, just down from the Twin Lights, is a park full of trails and historical markers. It offers some beautiful water views and trails that go for miles and miles. You don't even feel like you are the beach....it makes Highlands such a unique place....woods and beach! The best of both worlds.

Climb up the lighthouses for the truly phenomenal views!!!! MAKE TIME FOR THIS! They have a cute museum as well! Also, there is a trail that will take you from here to Hartshorne!!

As you pass by several beautiful beaches on both the ocean and bay sides, you can follow the road to the end to a historic military base (the proving grounds are there- not the restaurant, the military grounds) with some great views of NYC and the waterways. A cool light house is at the base and some military sites you can walk around in. A nice bike path takes you from end to end (but it's over 4.5 miles long).

It's the music epicenter of Monmouth County and the home of the Stone Pony (don't be surprised if a guy named Bruce is spotted there). Work a day trip!! Tons of restaurants ....GOOD ones. Don't miss the Beergarden rooftop! Love the whole town. Avoid parking problems by taking the train from Long Branch right to Asbury!
