Food Scene

I love this place and everytime I'm in Girdwood, I eat here. It is a 2 minute walk across the parking lot. If you are an omnivore, get the Rib-Eye. They have awesome vegetarian dishes too, and several great beers on tap.

This is my 2nd favorite place to eat, only 2nd because you have to drive (or bus) to get to it. But the menu is superb. Cajun cooking. Start with the Scallop Stuffed Mushrooms Rockefeller, then get the Shrimp and Scallop Cardinal with rice, and get the fried zucchini pirogues on the side. Share, because you won't be able to eat all this.

Everything Else

Don't know what to do? Walk to the hotel; you can take the paved trail next to the road, or the (short) hiking trail called the "Winner Creek Extension" that starts off of Crystal Mountain Road (very close by). Get something to eat in one of the restaurants and cafes, Get sushi, take the tram to the top of the mountain for the most incredible views ever; access the Winner Creek trail from behind the hotel; enjoy the Grounds and gardens. If you are here for activities, DH Mountain Biking is available in the summer, and best ski resort ever. Do check times for restaurants etc. (Do recommend skipping the Pond Café; if you want a steak, go to Jack Sprat or the Double Musky).

Sightseeing

A trip up the tram is something everyone who comes to Alyeska should do. From there, you can hike in the summer, (of course ski down in the winter), enjoy the stunning views, have a beer and a snack at the Boretide Deli and Bar, don't miss doing this. If you hike up, rides down are complimentary btw!
