Food scene

Funky coffee shop with natural mixers most of which are made in house, no flavored syrup pumps. They also roast their own beans and create seasonal lattes. Artistic vibe and good music. In my opinion this is the best coffee shop in northern Colorado. Its an easy bike ride or walk from your Airbnb.

Hiking

Leisurely hike close to town, also great for mountain biking. Not a lot of elevation gain and you can make it as short or long as you wish. The rock formation itself is unique and there is plenty of wildlife to see, especially in the cool mornings. Don’t miss a peek through the keyhole to see the valley below and the mountains beyond. We love to grab coffee in the morning and hike here. Mid day can get extremely hot in the summer so be ready and bring water. There is a $10 daily fee.

Just 15 miles North, Fort Collins is Loveland’s big sister. Old town Fort Collins is the sweet spot for Dining and Shopping and is about 10 times larger than Loveland’s downtown. CSU is also located in Fort Collins which brings a bit of a younger vibe to the area.

Sightseeing

A beautiful drive up the Thompson Canyon will land you in Estes Park. Food, Shopping and easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes is a great destination year round. Due to its elevation, its cooler in the summer than Loveland. In the winter the tourism dies down so it is easier to get around and has a cozier feel. If you haven’t been, put it at the top of your list while visiting Loveland.
