Activity

Aerial fun awaits at Treetop Adventure in London Now Open Thursday through Sunday There’s nothing like a day at Treetop Adventure at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park in London, Kentucky! Located in the trees within Levi Jackson, you will find an amazing aerial treetop adventure with more than 60 obstacles. This is THE Aerial Adventure Park to experience “adventure in the trees” on your own or with friends, family and parties. Currently the hours are Thursday through Saturday 11a.m. to 8p.m. and Sunday from 1p.m. 8 p.m. You have to be at least 7 years old to climb. At Treetop Adventure, you’ll see a series of platforms in the trees connected by cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Each bridge presents a different challenge of how to get to the next platform. A series of bridges form “aerial trails” throughout the forest. You don’t have to be a circus acrobat or Tarzan! Choose from five different color-coded trails, from “beginner” (easier and lower to the ground) to intermediate, to advanced (the most challenging). You will receive a complete safety orientation before your climb. Our double-connected, “always-locked-on” climbing system helps keep your climbing harness securely attached to the safety line at all times. The trails are intentionally designed for your self-discovery, making lessons unnecessary. Our park guides are available to assist throughout your visit. Treetop Adventure at Levi Jackson is located at 550 Mountain Life Museum Road in London, Kentucky. Telephone is (606)330-2130, Ext. 4, or email: levijacksoncampground@gmail.com

They have two local farmers markets on Saturday mornings. One is behind the McDonalds and one is on courthouse hill. A great place to get local honey, “cream” candy, and much more! Explore the Swinging Bridges The swinging bridges of Manchester are a historical oddity. During times of flooding, they were often the only way to cross over the many waterways and creeks of Clay County. The bridges are based off of early Inca bridges—simple structures anchored on either side of the river, causing them to sway as you walk over them. The Goose Creek Swinging Bridge is right in Manchester and can be accessed from the River Walk Trail. From Manchester, take KY-11 north toward Oneida, take a detour on Frazier Road to see the Frazier Road Swinging Bridge, and then get back on the highway to pass the Old Homeplace Swinging Bridge and the OBI Swinging Bridge in Oneida. There are dozens of unmarked bridges over the Red Bird River and Sextons Creek, so spend the afternoon exploring unmarked roads to find old, weathered bridges hidden by overgrown forest, imagining what it was like for early pioneers to walk these bridges as their only way of travel! https://www.kentuckytourism.com/exploring-manchester-kentucky-the-land-of-creeks-rivers-and-swinging-bridges

Food scene

The food and service is wonderful. It’s a great place to go for a nice dinner out, but make sure you call and make a reservation. They are booked up frequently. Prepare your tastebuds! Committed to using local farm fresh ingredients, Local Honey provides unique Kentucky southern cuisine. If only the walls could talk. The decor alone has tons of local history. #LocalHoney #visitlondonky

Great menu!
The absolute best burger around and super casual. Voted one of Kentucky’s best diners and has a separate bar area. This place has been around before the chickens came home. Offers eat in or take away and has several menu options. My favorites are the cheeseburger and home fries! Known for the best bourbon selection around. About a 20 -25 minute drive away. If you want to take the local scenic route then hit the curvy back road and take route East 80 or you can take the Hal Rogers Parkway through the Daniel Boone Forrest. I suppose either would be pretty scenic!
