Philinos has been around for quite a while. It has all the Greek classics. It might look expensive when you first glance at the menu but that's because the plates are huge and can easily be shared between two people. More of a family vibe with friendly service.

Café Olimpico is a somewhat of a Mile End institution. It has been around for years. It's a typical Italian café. The coffee is good and strong, they show soccer games on the TV's and they have old pictures of the Italian soccer team on the wall. They have a terrace on the side too.

Café Myriade is yet another coffee shop, this one connected to a men's clothing store called Savoie Fils. It is small but very bright with large bay windows. You can sit on a stool inside or on a bench outside and watch people walk by.

Come back in the evening for a more intricate menu.

If you find yourself in Saint-Henri feeling peckish, you should stop by Satay Brothers. They serve delicious Singaporean street food (pork buns, skewers, papaya salads, laksa soups, etc.) in a loud eclectic decor with a soundtrack consisting mainly of 90's rap.

PA Nature is a medium size grocery that focuses on "natural" products. Most fruits and veggies are organic, the fish is organic or wild caught, etc. The prices are quite reasonable considering the quality. Sometime worth the short walk if you plan to buy fresh food.

Rachelle-Béry is a 100% organic grocery store. They also have a section of natural medicines, oils and that sort of stuff with people (naturopaths?) to advise you. They have nice stuff but it's definitely on the pricier side.

SAQ is the state-owned wine and liquor store. We have one right around the corner. It doesn't have the biggest wine selection but it makes up for it by being open late (10 pm) every day.

Anyone who's into architecture and modernism will probably want to check out Habitat 67. It is a model community and housing complex designed in, you guessed it, 1967, by Israeli/Canadian architect Moshe Safdie for the Montreal World Fair. It's composed of 146 residences made of concrete units stacked together on multiple levels. Definitely one of Canada's most recognizable and spectacular architectural landmark.

It's not cheap but if you're lucky and your timing's right, you might be able to score a piece at a discount. At the end of the season, it's not uncommon to find pieces at 70% off. The owners, Diana and Chris, are super nice, friendly and unpretentious.
