An excellent experience, if you want to spend a cheerful evening in the company of friends and eat excellent pizza, this is the place for you. Very basic decor but fabulous pizzas. Possibility of choosing different doughs, the one without yeast is very interesting. Reasonable prices and polite and precise service.

If you are looking for something special, you will love this place. Inside it will have a maximum of ten tables (plus a small gazebo outside) but on the other hand there are several types of delights all in French style. The service is excellent, the staff is always courteous and competent in explaining the products. Excellent coffee and cappuccino. I consider the quality/price ratio reasonable (even if it is not cheap) precisely because of the high quality and choice offered.

The best place to eat Roman cousine in Milan. The menu is updated seasonally and the portions are generous. Among the appetizers, I certainly recommend "l'Antipasto delle Comari", which offers excellent quality samples (superb meatballs with pecorino cream and smoked anchovies), as well as fried foods (artichokes and cod). Special mention for the Dark Truffle Potato and the Aubergine Millefeuille. The first courses take all the best of Roman cuisine, but also present interesting variations, such as mint and pecorino bucatini (an excellent vegetarian alternative).

A home-style place in the heart of Isola, a historic restaurant that has always maintained the same quality and friendliness over time. In addition to eating excellent meat, the menu offers traditional Sardinian dishes, from typical cheeses, first courses and the much loved fried "se seadas" stuffed with cheese and covered with honey. In short, if you pass by here and want to eat well, you have come to the right place!

The Bosco Verticale (the Vertical Forest), designed by Stefano Boeri Architects and LEED Gold certified, is certainly the best-known symbol of green urban development. The chenge of the seasons transforms its green architectural composition, completed by over 15,000 plants and 90 different species of trees, shrubs and floral vegetation: the equivalent of a 3-hectare forest capable of absorbing 30 tons of carbon dioxide every year.

Assorted shop of every Italian delicacy. Very clean with fast service. There are very expensive items but also items with normal prices. It is possible here to shop for every day items or to have a snack or to buy something special for a special dinner. I think this is the best in terms of assortment and quality. The staff is also very courteous and the bar downstairs is also a pleasant environment and there is also nice music.

You enter through a door in one on the trendiest streets of the city and you are catapulted into an alternate reality. from the café-restaurant surrounded by luxuriant garden framing the trendiest clothing store in Milan. Continuing upstairs, instead there is both a small gallery that hosts various contemporary artists in turn and a concept store of niche home goods by famous designers and books on art, music, architecture and photography.

Le Guide ai Quartieri

In Italian, the word “isola” means island and was bestowed on this part of the city because it used to be cut off from the rest of Milan by a railroad. Today, this former 19th-century sleepy working class district is an area transformed. Now it's a vibrant enclave filled with street art and some fascinating buildings. Visit Piazza Gae Aulenti which gleams with steel and glass structures. Look over the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest), a complex of two residential buildings where flat terraces are planted with trees and bushes. Marvel at the form and features of the Egg, a work by artist Alberto Garutti. It features brass pipes on several levels which allow people to communicate without being seen. Study much older architectural designs and features with a tour of the beautiful Church of Santa Maria della Fontana, built in the 15th century. One of the joys of a visit to Isola is viewing its eclectic street art, principally created by local artists. There are vibrant, imaginative and sometimes surreal pieces. Walk through the underground tunnel that connects Isola and Garibaldi station and pause to study its wall paintings which were commissioned by a local art school.

Piazza Gae Aulenti

Piazza Gae Aulenti is a large circular pedestrian space raised above street level. In the centre, surrounded by a long stone bench, there are three infinity fountains which during the day come alive with water games to the rhythm of music and in the evening they bask in the light of the Solar Tree, a LED light installation which uses solar energy. Along the perimeter, the Unicredit Tower rises, its 230 meters making it the tallest skyscraper in Italy, and two other futuristic buildings, all in steel and glass, which, as if in an embrace, envelop the square.

Perfect Day

Pastry shop L’Ile Douce is the best spot to start your day – order a traditional Milanese brioche with an espresso, and watch the neighbourhood slowly wake up. Keep an eye out for street art as you mosey around the streets, then stop for lunch at Deus Cafe, which is part café, part workshop, and part cycle store. The afternoon could be spent exploring artistic tombs and monuments at Cimetero Monumentale; checking out Milan’s ‘Vertical Forest’ Bosco Verticale, or vintage shopping at Room 37 or Live in Vintage.

Perfect Night

Being in Milan, you can’t skip aperitivo. Go to Bob for well-mixed cocktails or E…brezza for wine, then try snagging a seat at Ratana for contemporary takes on traditional Milanese cuisine. Jazz club Blue Note is where you want to end the evening – check their calendar to see who’s playing.
