Wonderful view of the mountains and surrounding area, this is a short hike (10 min) to a large rock. A family favorite, we generally bring a bottle of wine and/or a picnic. If your motivated to wake up before the sun rises beacon heights offers one of the best sunrise views in the high country.

We are just 5 minutes from the iconic blue ridge parkway. There are countless hikes and areas to pull off and enjoy the spectacular views. I especially enjoy a leisurely drive during the fall or as we call it "leaf season" when the leaves turn the mountains all different shades of orange, red, and yellow.

We are just 5 minutes from the iconic blue ridge parkway. There are countless hikes and areas to pull off and enjoy the spectacular views. I especially enjoy a leisurely drive during the fall or as we call it "leaf season" when the leaves turn the mountains all different shades of orange, red, and yellow.
Food Scene
A two minute drive from the cottage this restaurant serves wonderful BBQ on specialty sour dough rolls. They have just opened a bar serving craft beers largely from western NC. The store has a great atmosphere and often has live music. A very popular place that both kids and adults are sure to love.

This is a very popular tex mex restaurant just fifteen minutes away. They have great guacamole, good food, and a plethora of margarita options.

This is arguably the most high end restaurant in the area with an extensive wine cellar, a rustic atmosphere, and absolutely delicious food and cocktails. Sit on their back porch, listen to the river and enjoy a wonderful meal and a glass of wine. I highly recommend asking for the calamari as sometimes they have it but it is not listed on the menu. Beware that as one of the most upscale places in the high country the price point is relatively high.

It is expensive but well worth it as they have a buffet with Lobster, crab, shrimp, and prime rib just to name a few of the options.
