There are lots of lovely local cafes and eateries around Penzance and West Cornwall. I am concentrating on the direct area around Penzance but you can venture further. Hayle and of course St Ives are great visits, if you go to St Ives take the train from the Park & Ride at St Erth, it's a lovely journey and saves the hassle of parking in St Ives. Enjoy!

Walk along the coast road to Mousehole, taking in Newly Harbour and local small shops. For more adventurous continue walking up Raginnis Hill and over the cliff path to Lamorna. This will take you most of a day and is not for the faint hearted, but it is beautiful and a wonderful day out.

Great to explore the mining heritage of the local area. You can go underground, there are amazing sea views and walks and a good cafe too. Brilliant for the kids, activities and education.

Sennen is a long soft sandy beach with great surf and lifeguards and cafes and a fish and chip shop. Spend whole days there with the kids, learn to surf, body board or just play in the waves.

Penzance to Lamorna coastal path. Amazing scenery, cliffs, woods, sea views, this will be an all day trek if you go from Penzance, or you can get a bus to Mousehole and start from Raginnis Hill. Wonderful outdoor theatre perched on the cliff above Porthcurno Beach. A must visit! You can go see a show or just go in the daytime and have a look at it. You can also walk around the cliff path from the Minack carpark to Porth Chapel beach, a little hidden gem.
