North Grove has a great atmosphere, very spacious with indoor and outdoor areas. You'll find a wide selection of craft beer (and other drinks), they have a kitchen with small rotating food options & specials, arcade games, pool table, darts, etc.

This place takes you back in time, is full of charm and history. They have a nice selection of sodas, ice creams, and a simple, tasty menu.

Perfect for a to- go order (e.g. if you're on your way to a State Park) or if you're looking for a place to relax. Best BBQ in the area Friday and Saturday evenings between Memorial Day and Labor Day. They have ice cream too :)

Sightseeing
Grab a bench and watch the boats coming in and out of White Lake. There are great views of Lake Michigan (sunsets too), the dunes and the White River Lighthouse. We see a lot of people fishing along the channel too if that's of interest.

Bring your cameras for this picturesque, lake side park with a great beach too. The drive from Montague/Whitehall is a scenic one so take your time and soak it all in.

The sand dunes are the main attraction at this State Park (in addition to the Sable Point Lighthouse). Views from on top of the dunes are unmatched and the dune rides are a great family activity.

This one-of-a-kind amusement park is a good mix of new (water park) and old entertainment (several wooden roller coasters). It's only 16 minutes from the house! This makes for a great family outing (there's a Camp Snoopy for the little ones).

This is quintessential summer for us, pack a picnic (or pick up some food from the various places in Montague) and bring your blanket and/or chairs to the lawn around the Band Shell. These performances are free and every Tuesday evening (starting at 7) in the summer.

Last time we were there we saw tie-dye, used books, clothing, carvings, plants, home goods, and more. Definitely plan to check it out as well as the Farmers Market in the summer.

While this place might on the highway and a little eclectic outside and in - the menu and food are what you'll remember. The menu is fun and diverse. You'll find everything from Brisket Spring Rolls to Quiona salads to Pizza (some of the best in the area).

These tamales (and the variety) are worth the trip! This place is well known in the area so some options sell out quick- early bird gets the worm here :). Pick up a bunch of them, they’re great as leftovers! If you like spicy - try their habanero salsa.

While it might be the only Chinese & Thai option in the White Lake area it's worth trying - they have all the classics and a couple of unique items too. It is only take-out, seems the dining room & buffet have been closed since COVID.

A very basic tasting room that is anything but boring. If you haven't had Mead before - this is the place to learn and if you're an aficionado - they'll happily entertain your interests :) You can taste all of their Mead and many are bottled and ready for you to take home. Food trucks are here on occasion.
