Lewes is an old-fashioned, historic beach town. Great to walk and see the old houses and history. Better for older kids or adults, not really a small child spot. Except for the beach in Lewes, that is a nice clean bay beach with small waves.

--$10 per car to get in. (out of state price) --Great beach with free parking, a bath house, bathrooms and snack bar on a boardwalk that takes you almost to the ocean. --Dolphin sightings are common --Stop at the Point for fabulous sunsets, and views of the Lighthouses. You may see seals in the winter. --There is also a pier you can walk out and watch people fishing, or get another great view of the Lighthouse. --There are nice bike trails and a nature center as well.

Classic beach town. Great restaurants, art shops, and clothing stores. The boardwalk has everything for the kids. Arcades, mini golf on a roof, tourist shops and rides. --Don't try to park on the main street. It's easier to park a few streets over and then walk, instead of driving in circles.---

The summers are hot, but if you burn then it's cool in the evening by the water. Spring and Fall can be warm with cool nights. Winter can be frigid, with a biting wind.

Have bug spray or wipes if you plan on walking the beaches or trails. There are mosquitoes and green head flies, and trust me...your ankles will want the spray at the beach.

Wonderful place to walk and see wildlife. The Dike trail is always good for Heron and Osprey sightings (in season) and the Boardwalk trail can have deer or fox out in the marsh.

---Don't miss a sunset from the upper deck, they are wonderful. ---Watch the trees in the backyard for Osprey, Eagles and Owls. (they land there and watch the marsh for food) ---Watch across the street for Herons, Osprey and Hawks. ---Be careful driving, turtles cross the road. Slowly. ---If you watch the fields you might see fox, deer, or raccoons.
