Stunning viewpoint and short half mile hike. This is a great stop if you are short on time, or on your first day getting to 9,500 ft as it will not require a lot of walking. However, this place is a MUST SEE even if you are acclimated.

Right off of I-70, this small mountain lake offers a short few mile hike around the perimeter or simply a place to eat a packed lunch along the shore.

Summit County's 14er! If you want to do your first 14er or perhaps add another to the list, this is a great option. This is technically considered one of the "beginner level" 14ers, however do not underestimate the climb to the peak. This is a 6.6 mile out and back trail with 3,326 ft of elevation gain. This is a very popular hike in the summer months so would recommend getting a very early start to ensure a parking spot (5AM). Another option would be to park at Airport Rd Parking Lot and take the bus over, which is offered in summer.

Skiing
World class ski resort. Grab a lift ticket and enjoy! If you are visiting and do not want to pay for a lift ticket, my husband and I personally like to partake in the uphill skiing. You are allowed to skin up the mountain with back country gear on designated routes and ski or snowboard down free of charge before or after operating hours. For parking, must register vehicle. You also MUST have appropriate gear to skin and have experience in this.

Easiest way to get around is via private vehicle
Although driving yourself around is the easiest, there is also access to the Summit County Stage right from our condo which is a free bus that has many routes around the whole county. If you do drive yourself, there is free parking in the town of Frisco and paid parking by the hour in Breckenridge. If you have a bike, you can access the rec path from our condo, which is about a half mile from our door. Rec path connects Breckenridge and Frisco and is a fun activity in itself to see the county on bike
