Charro Cafe. Founded in 1922, it claims to be the oldest Mexican restaurant in the United States that’s been continually operated by the same family. In that time, generations of chefs have passed down and perfected some seriously delicious recipes. The most important of these menu items can be seen drying in a dangling cage outside the restaurant every day.

This classic hotel, built in 1919, looks like something straight out of the classiest parts of the Jazz Age. Built on the newly paved Congress Street where it still stands, the swanky hotel even looked classy back in the day. Of course all of this splendor in the otherwise developing town managed to attract some high-profile clientele, including some of ill repute. Namely, John Dillinger and his gang.

Sightseeing
The mummified bodies of two members of the Hohokam Nation were discovered in Colossal Cave. Local folklore and historic sources also indicate it has been used at least once as a hideout by train robbers, who allegedly stashed gold within its depths.

This unusual museum is one of the most visited attractions in Arizona and attracts over 400,000 travelers per year, and is made up of different exhibitions that provide both historical and contemporary explanations of wildlife and plant life. Some of these include ‘Rivers to the Sea’, ‘Cat Canyon’, and ‘Life on the Rocks’.

For visitors who prefer not to hike, there is a tram through the canyon that has nine stops along the way.
