The Fort de Villiers is a unique military landmark, and it is one of the second ring of forts that were built by Thiers after France's defeat in 1870. It is situated in the center of a residential area that has many sports facilities, between the A4 motorway and the railway lines of the RER E. Even though the site is easily accessible by road, public transportation services are not very convenient, and there is only one bus line that connects it to the RER A and RER E stations at Mont d'Est, Noisy-Champs, and Les Yvris. The fort is surrounded by moats and woods, and it is almost hidden from the public. Although the site is abandoned and in disrepair, it has many excellent qualities that can be enhanced and made available to the public by developing new activities that respect the natural character of its surroundings.

The Palacio is a very high building (19 floors) with a neo-grec inspiration and an orthogonal shape. Its aesthetics truly inspired the movie director Francis Lawrence.

The park covers an area of 65 acres and is considered to be of exceptional quality, with its rich biodiversity and carefully designed ecosystem created through the interplay of man, waterways, plants, animals, and micro-organisms.
The park is situated close to the river Marne, which flows both in and around the park, providing an important habitat for many different species of flora and fauna. Visitors to the park can observe the now endangered ecosystem reconstruction, as well as the changes caused by water level variations due to development, which have put certain areas at risk due to the loss of wetlands. The park's environment offers many important environmental benefits, and its aesthetic value is enhanced by the various changes in natural landscapes that have been inspired by alluvial floodplains.
For bird enthusiasts, the park has six observation posts equipped with cabins and loopholes, which provide an opportunity to observe birds in their natural environment without disturbing them. The park is home to around forty species of birds, including gulls, swans, ducks, kingfishers, sparrows, grey-herons, and noisy rattle-hawks. Additionally, the park organizes events related to birdlife observation and the significant archaeological site called "Archeosite," which take place throughout the year in the visitors center located nearby.
A 3 km long gravel road in the park allows sports enthusiasts, Sunday walkers, and families to explore the park on foot or by bike. The park also has a children's playground, located at the end of the park, which is designed with a medieval castle theme and is easily accessible by following the main pathway from the entrance. Picnic tables and toilet facilities are also available in the park, making it an ideal destination for a family day out or a weekend getaway.
