Built in 1976 from salvaged parts of mills no longer in use, the Glade Creek Grist Mill is a tribute to the mills that once dotted the West Virginia landscape. The Glade Creek Grist Mill lies on the river in Babcock State Park. Visitors can learn all about milling on their trip to this iconic landmark.

The New River Gorge Bridge was completed on October 22, 1977 and is the longest steel span in the western hemisphere and the third highest bridge in the United States. Don't miss experiences like the bridge walk, old mine road, and of course the historic Bridge Day that takes place every October. The New River lies below the bridge and is home to world class rapids. If you are an adventure junkie, be sure to take advantage of class IV and V rapids during Gauley Season which takes place for six weeks during September and October. The New River Gorge is home to some of the best rock climbing in the country. Ace Adventures and Adventures on the Gorge offer guided tours, rafting trips, and more!
