With easy access to Downtown via 8th Avenue South or Nolensville Pike and its close proximity to the Gulch, Edgehill Village, 12 South, Melrose, and Hillsboro Village, Wedgwood-Houston is becoming a go-to place to live, work, and play.
Soho House, a members’ club for creatives, opened a location in Wedgewood-Houston giving this area international attention. There are several bars and restaurants in the area mostly frequented by locals. More and more retail is opening. This part of town is expanding rapidly.

East Nashville has a huge list of amazing businesses, from restaurants to shops, that are undoubtedly some of the best in Nashville. A lot of different types of people live in East Nashville, but expect to see mostly young, hip adults and families at the local spots. There are all types of properties including houses, townhouses, duplexes and small apartments. Walking from East Nashville to the other areas is pretty much out of the question, so be prepared to stay on that side of the river or be willing to drive a little.

If you are an active person, Sylvan Park may interest you. With the McCabe Community Center, McCabe Golf Course, Climb Nashville, and Richland Park, there is some serious exercise potential. From Sylvan Park, you can easily walk to West End, but would have to drive to the other areas in Nashville. Sylvan Park is wonderful for families of all types or single people wanting to be in a more residential area.

This is one of the bigger areas in Nashville that has pretty much everything you need, from restaurants to grocery stores to clothing boutiques. You can’t walk to any other area from Green Hills very easily, but you can walk around most of the Green Hills area.
The area is well-known for its high-end shopping scene due to the designer-filled shopping mall and the Hill Center, a section of Green Hills filled with local boutiques and well-known clothing stores such as Anthropologie, Lululemon, and Vineyard Vines. There are over 45 restaurants in Green Hills and multiple hair salons, fitness studios, and nail places. Green Hills is also home to the famous Bluebird Cafe.

It’s easy to grab a taxi, Uber, Lyft, B-Cycle, or bus ticket to check out the other neighborhoods, though. Expect more of a tourist scene Downtown.

You can also enjoy the 12 South Farmer’s Market at Sevier Park every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm during the warmer months.
12 South also has several apparel shops that sell everything from vintage to modern styles as well as jewelry stores and an incredible neighborhood bike shop. From 12 South, you can walk to Belmont Blvd, Melrose, and Hillsboro Village, but would need to drive to the other areas in Nashville.
