Drinks & Nightlife

Great atmosphere with a local landlord (Dan) who lives virtually opposite Plen. The food is great, and you can normally get a reservation here. The pub is a free house, so the beer changes regularly.

Open from 17:00 most nights, and during lunchtimes at the weekend, the Kings Head is a friendly pub. Alex and Amanda have a great sense of humour, and are very welcoming. The pub is in the centre of the village and only a short walk from Plen.

Situated right on the beach, the Zetland Arms has great views over the channel. There are many benches outside, and is a great venue in the summer. The food here is good, but you will need to book and reserve a place.

Sightseeing

A 10 minute drive from Plen. On the famous White Cliffs of the Kentish coast, Dover Castle is the most iconic of English fortresses. Commanding the gateway to the realm, it was 'key to England' for nine centuries. Today, climb the Great Tower, meet the characters and immerse yourself in vivid medieval interiors. Then delve deep within Dover’s White Cliffs to witness the drama in the Secret Wartime Tunnels. Roam through England's story at Dover Castle, from the Romans to the Cold War, in an action-packed day out. Well worth a visit, too much to do in just one day.
