Sir Allen MacNab also owned the building that you are staying in! 357 MacNab was used as a stable house for Dundurn Castle. This was the home to the prominent Gage family and the site of the 1813 battle of Stoney Creek. The 100 foot tall battlefield monument is a site to see and representative of peace to commemorate the soldiers who died in the battle.
