Only 15 minutes drive to the infamous Mount Manganui.
Once parked, you can climb to the top for incredible views, or walk the base track, an easy 40 minute walk. End up at a cafe on the beach front, then head down to one of the best beaches in the country for some sun, sea, sand and surf. Or you can go across the other side and swim at gentle Pilots Bay. For retail therapy, a stroll to the main street with a fantastic array of boutique products. End the day, at one of the many restaurants. On a cold winter evening, take a dip in the Mount hot pools.

Food scene
Outside courtyard dining or inside restaurant and bar, in central Tauranga, either way the food is great, and I love the atmosphere. It used to be the old post office, so the architecture is worth a look!

Favourite things to do
Fernland Spa is set is beautiful lush bush, and is a restful and rejuvenating hot pool setting. You can get pampered with a massage, or book a private pool as well. One of my favourite things to do on a cold night.

But you can see water from just about everywhere, and on one side of it there is a gorgeous walk down by the water and through the marshlands. You can wander down to the local cafe and shops.
