Neighborhoods

This is hands-down one of my favorite neighborhood in STL. I love SOHA, don't get me wrong, but Demun holds a special place in my heart. Go over and check out Kaldis Coffee for some chill coffee shop vibes. If you want to get a few drinks, stop by Sasha's roof top bar. Interested in something sweet? Don't worry, there's a Clementine's Creamery here too!! This neighborhood backs up to a Seminary and million-dollar homes. So needless to say, the walk around this neighborhood is breath taking and I love it! It's about 15 minutes from Rosa and totally worth the visit.

The Hill is your go-to spot for Italian food in Saint Louis! It's a great, walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants to choose from. My only advice - make sure to wear some loose fitting pants!!

The historic neighborhood of Soulard is a great place to go out for food and drinks! The buildings are all brick and made from clay right out of the Mississippi River! My favorite places in Soulard that are popping on the weekends are Molly's and McGurks. Restaurants I would recommend include Mission Taco and Joanie's Pizza! I'm sure there are many more but those are my go-to! Soulard Farmers Market is also fun! I would say Tower Grove Farmers Market > Soulard Farmers Market, but I think they are two different vibes, so I will let you choose!!

PRO TIP - GET THE BISCUITS YOU WON'T REGRET IT Honestly, I'm very passionate about Russell's. This is a STL-owned local business which makes the best food in town. The brunch is definitely the highlight and you really can't go wrong. You know this place is good when they serve cinnamon rolls the size of your head! They also make homemade gooey butter cake - which is a STL treat (definitely try some)! But really if you ate the biscuits and died, you could say you had a really really good life (ugh from whipped butter, to blackberry jam and honey... I mean really, enough said!!).

Did someone say BOOZY icecream? Okay even if you're not an alcoholic, Clementine's is still my favorite icecream spot in STL (maybe aside from Ted Drewes, but technically it's custard and now we are comparing apples and oranges). TOP FAV FLAVORS - Gooey Butter Cake (lol we are obsessed with this in STL), Midnight Pleasures - I swear that's what it's called!! (Dark Chocolate), and Salted Crack Caramel with emphasis on crack*. The place itself is also so cute and definitely worth the trip!

Onesto's Pizza & Trattoria is walking distance from Rosa Ave and is one of the best hole-in-the-wall italian places in Saint Louis! From pizza to cocktails, you really can't go wrong. They also have a great outdoor patio vibe. I would definitely recommend Onesto's for a night of good fun and happy bellies!!

Also surprising, their french fries are AHHHMAZING! They sprinkle it with some delicious goodness and they are perfectly crunchy & hot fries *cues mouth watering* Cafe Nova has an awesome patio as well to soak in some vitamin D while enjoying your lunch!!

Any pizza is a personal pizza if you believe in yourself!! This pizzeria is about a block down from Rosa and it's so delicious. It is locally owned and we love that too! Order pizza from Tivoli and you won't be disappointed.

Kaldis holds a special place in my heart. (I feel like I've said that multiple times throughout this guidebook...) But seriously this is my fav coffee shop to get a *honey almond cold brew* - so good - and hang on the patio with friends. This coffee shops backs up to a park so it's a great, quiet (yet still bustling with lots of fun people and families) place to chill.

Sightseeing

Tower Grove is one of my favorite parks in Saint Louis! I think it definitely has the most character and historic charm. Every Saturday (in-season), there is an amazing farmer's market with food, clothes, dog treats, basically everything you could ever want and more being sold. Tower Grove is a great place for people of all ages and families as well! Okay, PRO TIP on TG Farmers Market (and I take these pro tips VERY seriously) - Go to Kitchen Kulture and get the *GRILLED CHEESE BREAKFAST SANDWICH*. It will honestly change your life for the better and you can give me a 5-star review alone for this piece of advice. Also, there is usually Yoga in the Park on Saturday mornings (I think it starts at 8AM). It is open to everyone so you can head up there, do yoga, grab a grilled cheese breakfast sandwich and then take a nap under a tree! Honestly a great day. Here is a link to their FB Page so you can get a feel of how great this place is!! https://www.facebook.com/tgfarmersmarket/

The Missouri Botanical Garden is less than a 10 minute driver or Uber from Rosa Ave! The Botanical Garden is absolutely magnificent, there are so many different variations of gardens to see! I'm not a garden/flower enthusiast myself, but every time I go, I'm amazed at how beautiful this place is. This is definitely worth a trip to check out! In the winter, the Botanical Garden hosts a Holiday light show that is amazing!! Even in the colder months, this place is still hopping. Helpie selfie to some hotty toddies along the way as you enjoy the lights!

Forest Park is a great place to walk, run, picnic, go to the Muny (outdoor Theater), go to the Zoo, and explore in general! It is six miles around, which makes it twice the size of Central Park in New York! This is my favorite park and you should definitely visit here while you're in town. Parking/Best Path to Walk: I would park on Government Drive (before the Boathouse). There is plenty of street parking on this road. If you want to just go for a nice stroll, I would park on Government Drive then walk back toward Forsyth Blvd and make a right on Skinker. Walk toward Lindell Blvd. Then keep walking along Lindell Blvd and you'll hit the History Museum! From here, you can either keep going or make a loop back towards the Boathouse. Lindell Blvd has a beautiful tree-lined path that is shady and enjoyable to walk. You can google "Forest Park STL Maps" to get an idea of the area!

1 - IT'S FREE 2 - Honestly, this is a great Zoo. Saint Louis has done such an amazing job keeping this Zoo updated and taking care of all the animals. It shows!! There is so much to see and do at the Zoo, I would definitely recommend visiting (even if you think you're too old, ha!)

The Anheuser-Busch Biergarten and Tour Center is a must-see! This is the first AB brewery in the world! Most of the buildings are from the 1800's and it's amazing to see the infrastructure here. The tours are relatively cheap and you can see the huge tanks that hold thousands of barrels of beer! You will also get many free samples along the way :) After your tour, you can chill at the Biergarten which is fun!

This is a fun place to go out and get drinks in STL if you want more of a party-scene. Ballpark Village (aka BPV) is cool because there are 5+ bars inside that you can bounce around to! Obviously the St. Louis Cardinals play at the stadium right next to BPV, so you could pre-game a game or visit BPV afterwards! Or you could just go there and hang out with friends!
