Sightseeing
This is an incredible spot down a 1.7 mile hike through the woods at Emerald Bay. It's a 500 vertical descent, but it's worth it. Best used between April and November. You can hang out for the day at the beach and catch a tour of the castle.

We absolutely love Angora Lake. More of a spring/summer destination. During the open season, make sure to get early to grab a parking spot. If you arrive too late, you'll have to hike in. From the parking lot, it's less than a mile hike to Angora Lake. Because parking is limited, it never gets too crowded. You can rent kayaks, rowboats, and paddleboards from the little shop. They also make great sandwiches and are famous for their homemade lemonade.

An incredible view of Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe here right off of Hwy 89. Take some great photos by the falls and if you're up for it hike the trail to get to the falls. If you're super adventurous keep going all the way to Eagle Lake.
