This is the closest place you'll find for a quick hike with great views of the mountains and the Denver Skyline. Its about 10 minutes away and the loop will take you about 45-90 minutes depending on your speed and if you take optional paths.

The 'Mini Incline' or 'Castle Rock Incline' (not to be confused with the Manitou Springs Incline). This is a really nice park with some flat trails for relaxed walks, incline for more intense training, playgrounds for rambunctious kids, zip lines and obostacle courses for the adventurous, and an indoor pool for cooling off.

A great local pool to help beat the summertime heat! It can get busy but the kids will have a blast. There is also a nice park next to the pool and it is all situated in downtown Parker with a bit of shopping and a couple of eateries.

"America's Mountain" - Pic a nice clear day and go visit Pike's Peak. Its best to drive up (or maybe take the shuttle bus) to the gift shop up top. Once up top, take a bunch of pictures and enjoy getting to see 5 (yes, five) different states from one place!

"America's Mountain" - Pic a nice clear day and go visit Pike's Peak. Its best to drive up (or maybe take the shuttle bus) to the gift shop up top. Once up top, take a bunch of pictures and enjoy getting to see 5 (yes, five) different states from one place!
This is a great park that is relatively close. You're looking at about $7 for park entrance fees. It is a great place to visit and relatively close. The last time I went there I saw a black bear and it ran off when it saw me. It tends to get packed very fast so an early morning hike might be best.

Now a part of CU South Denver, The wildlife experience has some models of what nature and animal life is like in Colorado and is a great place to take kids for a little trip. there is also a theater inside for some small showings. There is also a nice park across the street to help kids to get their wiggles out!

Avoid Rush Hour Traffic
Traffic around here can get real horrible real fast! Avoid I-25 in the downtown area during rush hour and always check GPS when you're going somewhere to get updates on traffic - even if you know how to get there without GPS. Beware of rapid stops/slowdowns on the highway - especially during rush hour. It is very common to go from 65 mph to 15mph without warning!
I've also left a box with a bunch of fliers from the area. Some of them are dated but please take a look and feel free to leave behind any fliers from places that you find interesting for other guests. Have fun!
