A small lovely hamlet, famous for its therapeutic spring water. It is possible to book a DAY SPA at the local hotels to enjoy the healing water and some spa treatments. Wellness Days can be booked upon reservation at Hotel Posta Marcucci, Albergo le Terme and at the ADLER THERMAE Spa Resort (this last one the more expensive but the most luxury one).
In the village there are several nice restaurants but in high season it it very important to book in advance.

Montalcino is very famous especially for its wines and the Brunello di Montalcino. It is just 15 minutes by car from San Quirico d’Orcia and is a lovely medieval village. The more important event in Montalcino is Sagra del Tordo Festival in October, in which the entire population is involved at all levels. It is a folk festival following the oldest collective mechanisms of theatrical logic; to see and be seen. The festivities include food, dance and celebration that culminate in the challenge of a primitive archery competition.

PECORINO CHEESE TASTING! Recommended for Pienza Pecorino Cheeses tasting. Delicious! It is also closed to the beautiful Montepulciano which worth a visit.

Poggio al Vento is one of the best quality Orcia wine producers and I recommend it for WINE TASTING. it is a family-run farm and the owner Roberto is really a lovely person. The wine cellar is located in a beautiful panoramic position with view and can be reached also on foot from San Quirico d’Orcia with a hike of about 30-40 minutes.

The Temple of Brunello is an exciting, immersive journey allowing visitors to discover Brunello di Montalcino, a prince among wines and king of the terroir of Montalcino.
The experience begins at the InChiostro, where a video station with virtual reality visors called InVolo allows visitors to immerse themselves in the villas, castles, vineyards and hamlets that dot the municipality’s vast and diversified area.
Moving on to the open cloister, visitors descend from there into an underground area where immersive videos conjure up the four pillars, the founding concepts that have determined the unique nature of Montalcino’s wine.
This is followed by the Voices of Brunello consisting of interviews with the people who have made Brunello a legend.
In the Quadro divino, or Divine Picture, visitors are encouraged to leave a trace of their visit using the “colour palette” with the colours of Montalcino.

in ancient grain fields with a splendid view on Pienza.
You will discover everything about ancient grains, starting from the screening, the process of cleaning the cereals, continuing through the area of storage up to the mill with millstones, where you will assist in the grinding and discover the differences between the various types of flour.
The visit ends in the pasta factory where
we produce our bronze-drawn pasta from ancient grains
and slowly dried at low temperatures.
At this point you will move to the adjacent farmhouse where
you will participate in the Pasta class, using the ingredients that
you have just seen produce. You will learn how to use flour
of stone-ground ancient grains in the preparation of a
dough for focaccia and two types of fresh pasta, including i
traditional pici!
At the end of the pasta class you can sit comfortably a
table to taste the fruit of your labor and enjoy one
delicious four-course lunch:
- Selection of croutons with ancient grains
- 2 first courses based on ancient grain flour
- Sweet with ancient grains
