Mortehoe is a pretty North Devon village dating back to the Domesday book. They’re lovely pubs takeaways & restaurants and fabulous scenic walks especially along the south west coast path. Take a walk out to Bullpoint Lighthouse and hopefully see the seals and lots of interesting nesting birds

Absolutely beautiful village wrapped around 3 miles of stunning beach which is now 1 of only 12 designated protected areas for surf in the world.
Checkout the smaller beaches of Barricane Combesgate and Shellsborough, all within the fabulous Esplanade area. Great selection of pubs and restaurants along with plenty of individual shops selling everything from pasties (Fudgies Bakehouse) to Dryrobes. Woolacombe Bay Hotel has a cinema which is super luxurious and is open to non residents.

There are lots of lovely places to eat and drink in Ilfracombe as well as some traditional seaside attractions like crazy golf and a seaside theatre. You can also get excellent boat excursions from the harbour

A lovely family run aquarium located in the old lifeboat station on Ilfracombe harbour, definitely worth a visit. They also have a little cafe located in the former Rocket shed.

Food shopping
Woolacombe has a very well stocked Londis for all your daily needs and Post Office. Mortehoe had Grunta local shop for food and a separate Post Office opposite. Lidl in Ilfracombe is a 10 minute drive and there is also a Tesco in Ilfracombe a similar distance. Delivery supermarkets locally are Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons. There are some great independent shops in nearby Ilfracombe: Turtons Butchers, S&P fresh fish shop at the harbour and a good health food store and a couple of bakeries.
