The bayfront stretch in downtown Miami once was the home to a fleet of fishing boats. That all changed in April, 1987, 30 years ago. That's when Bayside Marketplace, a 16-acre retail and entertainment complex, opened between Bicentennial and Bayfront parks on Biscayne Boulevard. Bayside Marketplace was one of many shooting locations for the hit TV series Miami Vice, which aired on NBC from 1984 to 1989. The St. Vitus Dance was docked at Miamarina, home to fictional undercover detective James "Sonny" Crockett and his guard alligator Elvis. Sailboat living was convenient for Crockett — it helped him stay under the radar while wrangling Miami’s crooked cops and drug dealers. In his quintessential pastel linen suits, he also entertained ladies on the boat. Enjoy the Views on a Miami Sightseeing Boat Tour! If you want to rest from your hectic routine, a cruise around Biscayne Bay is the plan we know you’re looking for! you will enjoy a picturesque and relaxing view aboard the deck of Island Princess or Manatee II on an 80-minute tour where you can see the Venetian Islands, Star Island, and the downtown Miami skyline, all from the comfort of your chair while you drink a refreshing drink. Center Hours (bars, restaurants and eateries may stay open longer): Monday - Thursday 11:00am - 8:00pm Friday - Saturday 11:00am - 9:00pm Sunday 11:00am - 9:00pm
